Deans Marsh is where the Surf Coast stops being coast: a village of 368 people around a store, a hall and a rec reserve, with farm country and bush blocks folding up into the Otway foothills on every side. It is also, for internet purposes, radio country. Every check we ran on the nbn rollout data around the village and the valleys came back Fixed Wireless from the local Deans Marsh serving area, with Sky Muster satellite as the fallback where the hills win.
Terrain is the whole story.
Fixed Wireless is honest technology: give the antenna a clean line to the tower and it performs, put a ridge or a stand of messmate in the way and no plan upgrade will save you. The valleys around Deans Marsh, Pennyroyal and Bambra do exactly that to some properties. The difference between a good and a bad connection here is often a few metres of antenna height or a different mounting point on the roof, which is why we measure signal properly before recommending anything, and why “buy a better router” is almost never the first answer.
Farm properties are a different job, done right.
The classic Deans Marsh property is a farmhouse near the road and a shed, workshop or stable set well back. Getting real internet to the second building, for cameras, a work computer or just WiFi calling where the mobile signal gives up, is a point-to-point wireless job, not a WiFi-extender job. We design those links properly: measured, aimed, weatherproofed, and boring in the best way.
Inside the house, the old farmhouses do what old farmhouses do. Thick walls, long floorplans, extensions from three different decades. One router in the office was never going to cover it, and heat-mapping the actual house beats guessing every time.

What we won’t do.
We will not recommend Starlink without looking at your sky, and we will not sell gear to fix a line-of-sight problem that a re-aimed antenna solves for a fraction of the cost. If the honest answer is “your setup is fine, the tower is congested at 7pm”, we will say exactly that.
