Business WiFi and IT support in Geelong
Geelong · Surf Coast · Bellarine · Golden Plains · Colac & Otways

Business WiFi and managed IT in Geelong.

WiFi that keeps EFTPOS, bookings and staff online, plus Microsoft 365 set up and secured properly. One person who knows your setup, explains things in plain English, and answers the phone.

What business owners tell us

"It always goes down when we're busy."

That is not bad luck. Busy is exactly when a network that was never designed for the load falls over. A dozen customer phones join your WiFi, the terminal is on the same crowded channel as all of them, and the payment that matters most is the one that fails.

"

The EFTPOS terminal drops out right when we're busiest.

"

The booking system logs us out halfway through taking a booking.

"

Guest WiFi is on the same network as everything else and I know that's wrong.

"

Someone tried to log into our email from overseas and nobody noticed.

"

Our Microsoft 365 was set up by whoever was around at the time.

"

I don't have an IT person. I have me, and I'm busy.

The WiFi side

WiFi built around how you trade.

A shop, a clinic, a workshop and a café all put different demands on a network. We measure your site, then design for the way it is actually used.

01

Coverage designed around where the work happens

The counter, the till, the storeroom, the treatment rooms, the workshop, the outdoor seating. We measure the spots that matter to your trading, not just the middle of the floor, and design coverage to suit.

02

Payments and bookings on their own lane

EFTPOS terminals, tablets running your booking system and point of sale gear should not be competing with a room full of customer phones. We separate the business traffic from the guest traffic so a busy Saturday cannot knock the till offline.

03

A guest network that is genuinely separate

Customer WiFi is good for business and a real risk when it shares a network with your files and your payment gear. A properly isolated guest network gives customers what they want without giving them a path into anything else.

04

Hardware that suits a business, not a lounge room

Quality gear, UniFi and similar, chosen for the number of devices and the layout you actually have. It can be monitored and managed remotely, which means a lot of faults get diagnosed without a call-out.

05

Verified before we leave

We re-measure every area, and we test the things you depend on: the terminal takes a payment, the booking system stays logged in, the back office prints. Numbers, not assurances.

The IT side

Microsoft 365, set up and secured.

Most small businesses grew into Microsoft 365 rather than planning it. Accounts were added as people joined, licences were guessed at, and security settings were left wherever they landed. The fix is not dramatic, it is just thorough.

Microsoft 365 set up properly

Users, mailboxes, shared mailboxes, licences that match what you actually use rather than what was ticked at signup, and files in a place that is backed up and shareable. If you are moving from a mix of personal accounts and a shared laptop, this is the step that pays for itself.

Microsoft 365 security review and remediation

Multi-factor authentication turned on for everyone, admin accounts locked down, mail forwarding rules audited, and the sign-in logs checked for the overseas login attempts most small businesses never look at. We go through what we found in plain English and fix it.

New computers, set up and delivered ready

Sourced, configured, joined to your Microsoft 365, with your files and printers working before you open the box on the counter. We can do this remotely for staff who are not on site.

Ongoing support you can actually reach

One person who knows your setup, answers the phone, and does not need the history explained every time. For small businesses this is usually more useful than a help desk ticket queue.

Why the security review matters

Email is where small businesses get hurt. An attacker who gets into a mailbox does not usually announce it. They sit quietly, read the invoices going out, then send one of their own with different bank details. Multi-factor authentication, a check of any mail forwarding rules, and a look at where accounts have been signing in from are the three things that catch that early. None of them are expensive. Most businesses have simply never had anyone check.

How it works

Assess, quote, do the work, hand it over.

We start with an on-site assessment so the recommendations come from measurements rather than assumptions. You get a fixed quote before any work starts, so you know the number before you commit. When the job is done you get documentation, a plain-English handover, and 30 days of follow-up support.

Fixed quote first

You get a fixed quote before any work starts. No hourly rate ticking over while you wonder what the number will be.

No upselling

If your existing gear does the job, we will say so and set it up properly. We are not paid by anyone to recommend a brand.

Plain English, always

You will understand what we changed and why. If we use a technical word, we explain it. Your business, your decisions.

We come to you. There is no shopfront to visit, we cover Geelong, the Surf Coast, the Bellarine, Golden Plains and the Colac and Otways region, and same-week appointments are usually available.

Common questions

Business WiFi and IT, answered.

Why does our EFTPOS keep dropping out? +

Usually one of three things: the terminal is in a weak coverage spot, it is sharing a crowded network with customer phones, or the connection into the building drops and nothing is watching for it. All three are fixable. We measure at the terminal itself, put payments on their own separate lane, and test that it holds up under a busy load before we leave.

Do you look after Microsoft 365 for small businesses? +

Yes. Setup, licensing, mailboxes and shared files, plus a security review that covers multi-factor authentication, admin accounts, mail forwarding rules and sign-in activity. We can take it on as ongoing management, or do a one-off tidy-up and hand it back to you documented.

How much does business WiFi cost? +

It depends on the size of the site and how many areas need coverage, so we do not publish a single figure. Every business job starts with an on-site assessment, and you get a fixed written quote for the hardware and the work before any work begins. Nothing is ordered and nothing is installed until you have that number in writing and have said yes to it.

Do you offer ongoing IT support, or is it one job at a time? +

Both. Some businesses want a single fix and a documented handover. Others want someone on call who already knows their setup. We do ongoing managed IT for Geelong small businesses and we are happy to start with one job and see how it goes.

Can you separate our guest WiFi from the business network? +

Yes, and it is one of the first things we do. A genuine guest network is isolated from your files, your payment terminals and your office computers, so a customer device cannot reach anything it should not. It also lets us keep guest traffic from slowing down the gear you trade on.

We're a small business without an IT person. Is that a problem? +

That is the situation almost all our business customers are in, and it is the reason this service exists. You do not need an IT department. You need someone who will set it up correctly, explain it, write it down, and answer the phone when something changes.

Let's get your business online and staying there

Book an on-site assessment and we will tell you what is actually wrong, what it will cost to fix, and what you can safely ignore.
